What we can see is that at this period in time there was a huge rush into colored tin foil as the next vogue in bookbinding decoration. The covers have been transformed into a sparkling jewel like spectacle. Not without some risk it seems these tinfoil adorned bindings are often found in tatters. |
While there are none of Dubuisson's usual imprints on the boards that will help us to identify this work as his, the spine has been decorated with an unmistakable Dubuisson palette.
